For a background to the survey, please find attached a letter from INSETA (the Insurance Sector Education and Training Authority), who have contracted the Centre for Researching Education & Labour (REAL), in partnership with the School of Economic and Business Sciences, at the University of the Witwatersrand, to conduct the survey.

Insurance Body of Knowledge Book Series
The Chair in Insurance Education at Wits University, in partnership with the Insurance Sector Education & Training Authority (INSETA) has made available the first two volumes of the Insurance Body of Knowledge Book Series for download.
The books were authored by Professor Robert Vivian and Dr Albert Mushai in consultation and collaboration with INSETA and the insurance industry. The books are intended for use by staff and students of colleges and universities for teaching and learning purposes.

NOTICE REGARDING DG FUNDING
To INSETA Stakeholders who applied for DG funding
INSETA hereby confirms that the Learning Divisions are finalising DG funding allocations letters for sign off by the CEO. The first batch of these letters will be sent out at the beginning of October 2020; with the second batch following approximately two weeks thereafter.
We remain committed to providing excellent service and are pleased to announce that all staff are now able to work productively off-site. We have however experienced some delays and would therefore like to express our sincere apologies for any inconvenience.
WSP Submission Date Extended by Government Gazette
In line with the gazette INSETA will no longer require companies to submit application for submission of WSP/ATRs between 1 and 31 May 2020.

INSETA Offerings to our SME’s to address FAIS Competency challenges
Insurance SETA (Inseta) Funded SKYE Competency Register and Training Report Software
FSP’s and particularly SMME’s are finding it increasingly difficult to keep up with the ever changing FAIS compliance regulations. The recent FSCA Board Notice 194 OF 2017 and FAIS Notice 86 of 2018 outlined the new Fit and Proper requirements relating to Class of Business Training, RE, CPD hours, Product Specific Training and Qualification requirements. These requirements are based largely on representative license categories and date of first appointment (DOFA) dates for each FAIS representative in the practice. The new Competency Register together with planning and control requirements are complicated and time consuming and include a number of technical management challenges for most FSP’s.
The Skye Competency Register Module is fully funded by INSETA which allows us to offer this module at no cost to a limited number of registered FSP’s in the Insurance Sector.
Users will also have the option to access the full SKYE Client Relationship and Document Management, Compliance, HR and Practice Management modules at affordable and discounted rates.
